I don't familiar with this city since I never really live here except for doing some businesses, but I know that we drive through the same road again and again. I see Hyatt Hotel for about three times and then I realize that we are going nowhere..

He is sitting next to me with his left hand hold mine.. Driving the car with no clue..

"Where are we going to?", I asked.

"Nowhere.", He answered, "I just wanna prolong my time with you.."

What I will miss from my former campus is the graduation moment. I always love it because it wasn't the same with the other campus. ITB (Bandung Institute of Technology) has a unique tradition on graduation day. The student associations from each major usually makes procession for the alumnus by accompany them (by foot) all around campus. The most interesting part is that they use strange costumes with different themes for each major.

These are not group of Papa Smurfs (lol).. They are group of Mechanical Engineering students.

I remember that during my study in ITB, I was involved in several graduation party committee.. As I remember, the themes was Retro, City Light, Military, Aviation and Plane, hmmm.. (what else).. ah! Mafia, and then Egypt, etc.. The juniors dressed up according to such theme and then accompany the alumnus around campus, performed some art (dancing, yelling, singing our student association hymne, etc), and ended up with water war on our faculty parking lot.. When I was graduated 2 years ago, the theme was mafia..

Aw,, Writing this blog post makes me really miss my undergraduate time. I will always love ITB and all the memories I left there, but for now, I can't wait for living in Sydney! Graduate study next! ;)

Shopping Experience at Yogyakarta

Last week I went to Yogyakarta, Central Java, Indonesia to attend the 2nd International Young Planners Forum.. I had few times to take a stroll there, but I took a walk to Malioboro Road at night and got some fabulous shopping experience!

Here's my 'treasure'

Chocolatte named Monggo, 2 bangles, 3 silver brooches, jamu (traditional drinks), tissue holder, table mats (for my mom!)

Ok, so started with Malioboro Road..

We'll see a lot of people hanging around. Start from seller, buyer, pedicab driver, street food seller, tourists, it's a busy street actually.. but I love being here because there's so many craft items sold here.. Here's some picture..

Accessories Shop!! Bandos, bracelets, necklaces, earrings, etc!

Sandals.. Especially leather sandals.. They are very cheap.. Only 1.5 US$!

This is batik cloth.. It has beautiful pattern and color! But, it was hand-written (really!) so it was quite expensive! About US$ 100.. It's worth it actually since the batik cloth it very long lasting.. But I don't bring that much money so skip it X__X

Jamu (traditional drinks) booth.. Not only jamu, there's also ratus spice, spice bath for sauna, traditional body scrub, traditional mask, etc..

Monggo Chocolatte booth! there's ginger flavor chocolatte fyi.. ;)

Gamelan or traditional Javanese music instruments..

Traditional toys! It's so funny what I found there...

Baskets of Bracelets!! *I wanted to buy all of them! So hard to choose.. and I found some bracelets that's really pretty..

Which one? But I think those were really huge for my tiny arms, so...

Thousand Island Vacation!

Couple months ago I went to Thousand Island for a vacation with my two of friends.. This is not salad dressing, it is a real archipelago with tiny islands spread on Java Ocean.. ^^

Thousand Islands lies on northern Jakarta (Capital city of Indonesia) and can be reached by boat for about 2 hour..

There are many islands that you can visit and also a lot of activities!! For example banana boat, snorkeling, diving, swimming, sun bathing, etc etc..

I went to some island:
- Pramuka Island (I get the motel here)
- Air Island (good snorkeling spot)
- Tidung Island (various activity: banana boat, jet ski, snorkeling, bicycling, strolling around Jembatan Cinta 'Love Bridge')
- Semak Daun Island (private island with no resident. Very clean sand and water. Great area for group activity like barbeque, games, etc)
- Kotok Island (this is a resort with rate around 140-200 USD per night per person. Super perfect place for sweet escape! Just you and the beach, and forest. Small island with clean beach and little forest. You can see a lot of eagle, crow, and biawak/big lizard here. Very natural. I like it..)

I'm so happy!! Last night I found out that I get the Australia Development Scholarship. It means that I will be stay there for a year and half, starting January 2012!

I'm soooooooooooo EXCITED!! I will doing my Master Degree there, but I also can't wait to get to know about Australia culture and lifestyle there.. Wish me luck!

I Really want to go here.. Raja Ampat in Papua Island, Indonesia.. It is really beautiful! It has one of the best reef in the world and also thousands of fish collection!

Honestly, I can't swim! *don't laugh! ;)
But I did diving once at Bunaken Island, Sulawesi (with an instructure guidance of course).. It was so fun and I wanna go diving again sometime.. I hope the next in Raja Ampat..

Double Bday Surprise!!

Happy Birthday to me!! \^^/
Well. actually it's yesterday (July 15), but I post the things about my bday now.. =p

I'm so happy because now I'm turning 23.. It means, I should learn more and more everyday about life so I can be a better person everyday.. But what makes me happy the most is that I got 2 bday surprises!! yaaay!!..

First Bday Surprises

came from my besties,. So around 5pm I was on campus waiting for my partners to do some business meeting. I was alone at 5th floor and then suddenly my frind texting me asked where I was.. I answered that I was in 5th floor..
I sat with laptop and documents in front of me when suddenly they came , and brought this:

aaawww..!! so sweet. they sang me happy birthday.. I blew the candle, and we took a picture..

Second Bday Surprise..

I thought my boyfriend wouldn't do anything for my bday since he was act like nothing happen since the day before July 15.. at July 15, he was just congratulate me and drop me McDonalds (what??!! lol).. but I think it's okay.. I still love him tough.. =p
I got home at 7.30 pm after the meeting. My bf said he would drop by to my place and bring me some foods.. A few minutes later, there's a knock knock on my door..

'knock knock!!'
'come in!!' I said
'Knock knock!!'
'the door is not locked, come in!'
'knock knock'
*half upset I went to the door.. 'I said come in, why don't you just... '

When I opened the door, my bf was standing in front of me, singing me happy bday and brought this..

what can I expect more?? =)

I am so grateful for yesterday, the days before, and today too.. I thanked God for everything that has written down for me.. hope 23 will be better than previous ages.. =)

I also thanked my friend who congratulate me on Facebook, Twitter, etc.. that's a lot. I mean, A LOT!! thanks so much, guys.. Hope the prayers, blessing, and wishes come to you all too.. =)

Just Buy a Make up Palette

Horraaayy!! yesterday my make up palette arrived.. I bought it from my friend who live in Singapore.. It has no brand, but the quality is good..

It contains of 72 color eye shadows and 6 color of blushers.. I love it because not only shimering eye shadow it has, but also the mattes,,

It also has a beautiful glossy casing.. I play a bit with the make up and I made this blue-eyes..

My eyebrow is totally forest! lol! =D

It is (should be) summer time and I love summer!! But unfortunately.. the weather is still cold up till now.. =(
Hello, Sunshine where are you???

And the worse thing is that the weather in my city is about soooooo uncertain.. I wake up in the morning and see the sunshine shining bright.. Yaaaaaayyy!! *I said..
So I dress so-summer.. but apparently around 3 pm.. rain was pouring down and not stopping until night!! rooaaaarrrr!!

So, I think I must choose an ensemble that I can use either in sunny or overcast weather.. and for today, I choose some cute clothes (I browse it) and this is it!!

There's a lot of myths and legend in my country.. does not mean I believe in superstitions, I regard this as a cultural heritage that enriches my country..

This time I wanna tell you about one of the Most Famous Woman Myht in Indonesia. She is called Nyi Roro Kidul (read: nyee rhorho keedhool).. She is known as Queen of South Java Ocean. She's immortal, live in the sea, but sometimes its expression appeared to humans. Some people believe that she is really exist. They provided a room in Ina Samudera Hotel, Sukabumi West Java designed in green color for her (her favorite
color)..

Nyi Roro Kidul figured as beautiful young lady that wears Javanese Traditional suit. So here's a story about her..

Once upon a time, King of Pajajaran Kingdom, in West Java (named Prabu Siliwangi) has a beautiful daughter named Lara Kadita. Lara Kadita was his only child, he missed aboout having a son, so He married his mistress and have a son. because Lara Kadita was the queen's daughter, so she would automatically being the next queen. The mistress couldn't accept this, she wanted her son that being the King, so she sent Lara Kadita a spell..

The next day, Lara Kadita's body was full of sores. The King, Queen, and herself didn't unnderstand what was happened. The mistress provocate the people that the princess was brought bad luck to the kingdom. People was angry and forced the King to expel the princess.. King have no other choice, so Lara Kadita left her hometown with pain, sorrow, and a broken heart..

Day by day.. night by night,. she walked aimlessly until she arrived to the South Java Sea.. She was hopeless and then plunged herself into ocean.. Magically, she's not dead.. She became more powerful and beautiful than before and she lives forever in the sea..

That's all! I don't know if it's true or not.. hehehe,. But I love traditional legend.. i'll share another story next time..! good night, all.. =)

Weekend Fashion (May)

Today I have hanged out with some friends.. At the noon, I gave my friend a hand on her Final Project (the deadline for July graduation is on earlier June) and then at night, I went to a pizza restaurant and have a great time laughing and laughing again..

Hmmm.. the weather in Bandung is sooo chancy. Hot and sunny on noon, but have a heavy rain plus big thunder and wind.. =(
But it's ok! Chancy weather shouldn't change my weekend mood to weak-end one, right? hehe.. so, herewith, I'll share you what outfit I wore on this weekend..

Here's the shoes.. I love it.. but I wear it rarely.. =/

the outfit perfectly match at noon, but at the evening?? blah!! *don't ask.. (super huge rain at the evening)

Ah.. and also I got this beautiful bracelet when I strolled around on Electronic Center.. I know it's weird to found it there, but yeah.. it was just fate that met me with this bracelet (I'm way too exaggerate..!! LOL!).. and the best deal was that I got it for only $2.. hehehe.. *not bad..

I love the turquoise color.. ^^

Fyi, it's quite hard for me to find a bracelet that fits my arm because my arm was so tiny! =( but it looks OK I think.. =9

8 Ways to Look SuperB Without Make Up

Good morning!! It's a beautiful morning here and since I have a very good mood, I write a post first before I go to work... and it's about steps to have a stunning look without make-up. I love make up and fashion, but for my daily routine, I usually just wear natural make up or even no make-up at all..
And here are some tips for you..

1. Drink mineral water

I usually drink 2 glass of water before sleep and when I wake up in the morning. Wherever possible I avoid soft drinks, alcohol, and other drinks that contain chemicals..

You don't have to drink tons of water, just make sure it enough for your body needs! =)

2. Make sure your face is clean

Bring out your charm.. Make sure your face acne free, not oily, and fresh! No need make-up, but maybe you could put moisturiser and a bit powder..

I use this Clean&Clear to keep my face acne free!

3. Make sure your teeth is clean too

Nobody wants to see 'something' stuck between your teeth. lol! =D also make sure your breath is fresh! you will get extra-confident. trust me! ;)

4. Match your outfit

You might be not a fashionista, but a simple outfit can be a super alluring outfit if you match it! Like this one..

How to Have a Sound Sleep in a Scary Place

Ok..
So last Tuesday I had a meeting held in Jakarta (capital city of Indonesia while I live in Bandung). My boss left the office while I still have to print the material for the meeting, so I left about 3 hours later by myself to Jakarta.

It was my first time going to Jakarta with nobody picking me up at the travel service pool, I was a bit nervous but I try to calm down. Finally, I took a taxi and it cost me about $4 to get to the hotel. In fact, it would only cost me about $1,5 because the distance between the pool and the hotel was just about 2 kilometers!! *I have being fooled by a taxi-driver.. T___T

After the long, tiring travel, finally I arrived to the hotel. ummm.. Ok. That's not actually a hotel. It was more look like a house with a lot of rooms to rent.
I got the key to the room and when I opened the door.. *sigh.. the room had 2 bed (but I was alone! =/ ), a nebulous-light lamp, and it look like this:

It had two beds.. I choose the one that stick to the wall

Yeah, there was a TV,. but the light was still dusky. Don't help too much

It is soooo dark!!

The truth is.. I was scared. Yeah.. When I tried to sleep, I started to thinking about a lot of non make sense things like:

1. What if I'm not alone in the room?

2. What if the bed beside me suddenly cracking, indicate that someone is there?

3. What if when I look at the window, there's something outside staring at me?

Aaaaaw..!! I couldn't sleep! I chat with some friends and BF to waste my time, hoping that as time goes by I will be more sleepy and sleepy until I forget that I sleep already. But it didn't work! Eeeergh.. I gotta sleep soon! And then, some ideas came to my mind and it really help me to sleep tightly..

1. I turn the TV channel into 'Playhouse Disney'.. Watching 'Shaun the Sheep' and laughing until I forgot my fear.. I keep the TV on while I was sleeping..

2. I put all my stuffs above the other bed. My travel bag, pants, make-up, etc.. So it would reduce any possibilities of someone or something sleep on that. =O

3. I slept with my head and body confront the wall.. It gave me the view of the wall so it is impossible for me to look around the room and found 'something' staring at me..

and it did work!! I woke up freshly the next morning and ready to attend the meeting! It was one of unpleasant experience, I hope I get a better room (or at least a lighter) on my next trip.. but at least now I know how to deal with that kind of situation.. hehehe

Try to Make Up My Face..

Hollaaa!!
Last weekend I went to a friend wedding and I did my own make up. Ok, I admit it.. I'm not a professional make up artist or else, but I like to learn make up. Maybe on my campus or work place, not so many woman wearing make up, neither do I.. (But at least I wear natural look make up. lol)..

I learned how to put make up from my friend's mum. She's a teacher on a model agency and here's our picture after class:

Ok, back to the wedding.. That night, I was wearing gold kebaya (Indonesian traditional costume) so I put:
- The gold eye shadow on my eyelid
- The brown-reddish eyeshadow on my crease
- The dark brown eyeshadow on the outer V
- White Shimmering eye shadow for the highlights
- Light gold eyeshadow under my eyes
- Black liquid eyeliner for my upper eye line
- Black pencil eyeliner for my waterline
- Peach blush
- Light brown lipstick
- Peach lipgloss
and ah! almost forget..
- Fake eye lashes.. (only for my outer eye corner.. I cut the fake eyelashes into 2 pieces. *rude, I know! lol)

One thing I gotta say thru this post is that everybody can do her own make up. Don't afraid to try because nobody will be hurt if u made mistake.. =D and don't afraid to wear make up coz it made for enhance our beauty.. remember, beauty is a bless.. but make up is a skill.. =9

Hi..
Have you ever write a love letter and never send it? I did! The letter was for Sunshine but I never send it because I think it's way too late to send it.. We broken up already (for a few months).. and it's kind of hard for us to get back together, because the reason why we're broken up is the different-religion.. *sigh

That's pretty sad.. but I know he'll doing just fine.. I never regret his ability to control his life and I'm definitely sure that his next girlfriend is a totally lucky girl.. =,)

I LOVE this Mineral Foundation

I just got this mineral foundation from my bestie, and have used it for two weeks.. I love this foundation, I think you should try..
This is i.d. bare minerals foundation

When I first try it, I just barely can't see it on my face because it fits my skin tone perfectly! =)
It also blend well with my skin so I feel like I don't use a make up at all.. But untul afternoon or even evening, my skin still matte and my blusher, eye shadow, etc was still on my skin! this is very long lasting foundation..
I use 1G Light color because I have caramel tanned skin..

It also contains SPF 15 that suits for asian skin like me.. You want to see how it appears on my skin? take a look this picture..

For everyday natural make up, I use this mineral foundation, peach blush on, soft brown lipstick + peach lipgloss, and mascara.. voila!! express fresh look!! =p
FYI: I'm kinda busy so I usually don't have extra time to do full make up,. but this simple make up really help my day.. hehehe..

KEBAYA

Hi all..
It's been a while since my last post. Yaaaa.. kind of busy lately and bow I have been preparing for my TOEFL test next Thursday.. Wish me luck, ok!!

This time I will review Indonesian National Costume called KEBAYA.. Indonesia is an archipelago that has so many different culture from coast to coast, but one item that can unite us as Indonesian is Kebaya..
Kebaya is look like shirt, but it comes in fit woman body shilloutte and usually made from expensive and glamorous sheet.. It also decorated by embroidery, beads, or even swarovski crystal..

We usually wear kebaya for special occasion like graduation, wedding, engagement party, and another formal event.. this is what kebaya look like..

It have beautiful details and that makes kebaya could be sooooo expensive.. One piece of Kebaya (not include the sarong) can cost around US$ 2000.. But we could make a cheaper one by choosing different fabric and decorating items.. Some kebayas could cost only US$ 150.. want some? lol ^^

I love the color tone on this kebaya.. =)

Kebaya is used with Batik Sarong (Indonesian Traditional Sheet).. The sarong could be shaped like mermaid line skirt or long pencil skirt..

I used kebaya on my graduation last July.. These are some photos I want to share with you... =)

This is me on Gold Kebaya and Batik Sarong.. I put my hair on up-do and put bejewelled head band..

I wear it under my toga and this is my picture with my youngest brother.. hehehe

The upper part of my Kebaya.. it fulfilled with golden beads.. love it!! =)

What Your Period Day and Date Said about You??

Hi darlas...
This is my second post about oracle and I will tell you about your period (mestruation) reading.. My first post is about What Your Moles Said about You??? that you can read on the link..

Every woman must have once period in a month, but it could come sooner or later than the previous month,s period.. There is a myth that every date and day of your period advent is represent something.. and here we goes..

If your period come in this day:
Sunday : you will meet someone from the past
Monday : you will get lucky (maybe win a giveaway? LOL)
Tuesday : you will get happiness
Wednesday : there will be a fight or get an argue
Thursday : you will be sad (oh noooo)
Friday : you will get joy and fun
Saturday : there will be a surprising moment

Mention Your Period! LOL

That's for the day.. now for dates, if your period come in this following dates, it means...
1 : you will get temporary happiness
2 : there will be a problem, mostly on your familiy
3 : you will be involved in some important conversation
4 : you will get money or luck (yay!! ^^)
5 : you will feel sorrow

IT: White Crater.. when hot and cold blend together

Hi darlas.. This is my first edition writing about Indonesia Tourism (I will abbreviate it to IT). I love my country because it has so many beautiful sites and one of those site is White Crater..
White Crater (or Kawah Putih in Indonesian) located in Ciwidey, Bandung City (city where I live), West Java Province, Indonesia.. It is a crater that surrounded by beautiful mountain..

The air in White Crater is very cold but it fill with hot mountain water. That's why I said that in White Crater, we can see a blend of hot and cold.. =)
Though the water is hot, but we're not allowed to swim there because it contains high sulfur. But the view of White Crater is worth to see! *I guarantee it!
I took a photoshoot in 'angels' theme with my friends last year and here are the picture..

You can see the fog around us, right? It was soooooo cold but we still 'smile'! lol..
People usually take Pre-wedding picture here too. That's not surprising because the view is so beautiful and romantic.. ;)

This just one from so many tourism in Bandung.. and FYI, holiday in Bandung is cheap. lol!

Lickalicious Skin!

I like sweet scent such as cinnamon scent, fresh from the oven donut, my mum's cupcakes, strawberry milkshake, etc.. But I can't have it all scent every time, right? :D
So, I use beauty product to get that scent every time I want and one of my favorite product is...

It have super sweet vanilla scent! But it kind of hard to get this product in Indonesia, So I use this product only for special time. In example when I get a long tiring day or before I go to a date.. =p
Warm bath plus vanilla body wash plus comfortable pillow was a great healing therapy after a long day! and the scent that remain on my skin always make me more confident when I meet Sunshine.. :)
So, This is what Delicious Delight Vanilla Ice Cream Body Wash look like:

Beside it scent, this product can be used as shampoo too! but I never really try it.. maybe just in emergency case when u run out of shampoo or left it at home when travelling.. lol!!

In Indonesia, people sometimes fortune something or guess somebody characteristic through their body. I will give you some traditional oracles and for this first edition, I will try to tell you about moles. Mole? Yeah mole!! Tiny dots that usually appear on your body since you were a kiddo.. =p

Ok, here are some signs for your mole location. Just check where’s your moles placed on your body and compare with this oracle.. This is only for have fun! ^^

Believe it or not..

If your mole is:

1. On the tip of your left/right eye : reliable but tend to reticent

2. On the end of your nose: clever and kind

3. On your right eyebrow: love to help other people

Actually, I have it one there on the corner of my right eyebrow.. but it don't appear here. I guess it's because of the light effect. =/

a little piece of SUNSHINE

I met Sunshine for the first time here..

At our campus corner.. It was July 2007.. and our first candlelight dinner was here..

The Valley, A cafe on hills. We could see beautiful city light of Bandung from our table.. Pretty cold there but with him, nothing I felt but happiness.. =)
One day, I want to eat ice cream so much but Sunshine refused to dropped me at minimart to buy it. He just dropped me home.. but a few minutes later, he asked me to went in front of house and I found this Wall's ice cream 'Luv u Berry Much' taste and a box of J.co Donuts. He put it on the bush in front of my gate.. *sweet

Ah! Another thing that always makes me smile when remember him is that we watched Transformers 2 at The Premiere Cinema. The special thing's that we're the only couple who watched there that night. So we feel like we owned the cinema.. just the two of us!!

Tonight is raining outside.. and today's overcast and foggy all day.. =/
I miss him.. I miss my Sunshine come to bright up my days again..

IF : Bakso a.k.a Meatball

Hi! this is my first post telling you about Indonesian Food (I will abbreviate it to: IF)..
The first Indonesian Food that will be reviewed is meatball or we call it BAKSO..
In the last two days, my two friends and I have been waiting for Bakso vendor that usually going around our neighborhood. But poor us, the huge rain makes everybody (and I think) includes Bakso vendor lazy to get outside.. and tonight it happen again.. =(
So I made this blog.. hope this will satisfy me a bit. lol!! :D

Well.. Here comes the Bakso!!

It looks tasty right? The meatball serve with noodles and hot soup made from broth and spices.. The topping is chopped celery and fried red onion. We can add tomato sauce, chilli sauce, or soy sauce to make it more luscious!!

The bakso could come in a huge size! lol.. that's because there's filled with minced meat. Some bakso are filled with egg, cheese, and even tomatoes.. *aaaaah.. can't help my mouth-watering.lol! =p

Picture above is bakso that served with dumping, noodle, and fried tofu.. In Indonesia, almost every girl likes bakso. I can say that bakso is one of food that 'so girly'.. hehe,.

Well, hope this info could make you wondering how bakso taste is. One thing for sure, if you visit Indonesia sometime, you have to contact me so I could treat you bakso.. =)

Happy Woman's Day!!

This morning, a friend of mine called me and he said "Happy Woman's Day"!! Wow.. I even just know that today is Woman's Day.. *lol

In the afternoon, I met a bestie for lunch. She told me a story that could break every woman's heart. She talked about how her Mr-Ex treated her badly.. Then suddenly I remember, that today is Woman's Day so I told her to be strong! I said 'we can do it!!'

*sigh

Though I told her to be strong, but deep inside my heart, I know how she feels.. Been there done that. Being neglected, etc.. I just surprise how could a man change 180 degrees from love me so to not so love me. Don't they remember, the day we fell in love?? Don't they remember that without a woman, they won't exist? Why don't they try to respect woman, start from the woman they love..?

But, ladies..

I think they won't respect us if we don't respect ourselves first.. So for the ladies, let spread more love for ourselves.. and for gentlemen, let start to respect woman around you.. especially them who love you.. =)

Multipurpose Liquid Make Up

Hi, all..

This time I want to share with you about one of my favourite make up. It's BEAUTE de KOSE liquid make up. I use this make up everyday.. for many purposes:

I use it as foundation..

I don't like heavy make up for everyday using. So I apply this foundation by a wet sponge to get thin and flawless coverage. After that, I use compact powder. VOILA! Light base created! =)

I use it as concealer..

Sometimes when I get too tired of work, dark circle beneath my eyes start to appear. I hate that so I take a drop of this to my finger and gently rub it beneath my eyes.. finished it with powder.

This make up is perfect for dry to normal skin. If you have oily skin, I'm not recommend you to using it.. How about you all?? Do you have any favorite foundation? just let me know..
